Longer Table Farm is a certified organic farm located in Sonoma County, CA, just ten minutes' drive from both downtown Sebastopol and Santa Rosa. We cultivate 10 acres focusing on production of head lettuce, salad greens, peppers, cucurbits, tomatoes, cut flowers, and various other market crops for wholesale distribution and our farmer’s markets. We aim to grow the highest quality produce by nurturing our soils and the whole farm ecosystem through regenerative farm practices.

 

Our seasonal field crew is integral to the success of the farm. Seasonal field crew members will be joining an existing crew that is excited to work and grow together on the farm. Most tasks are done as a team so there are lots of fun times to be had! Days can be long, hot and strenuous so a positive attitude and strong work ethic are musts. We strive to foster our crew members’ passions and strengths on the farm and offer transparency on a profitable small farm business model. All positions include unlimited fresh produce for regular home use and paid sick leave. We do not offer on-farm housing, and cannot accommodate dogs on the farm.

Flower FIELD CREW

Multiple positions available

Full-time (35-45 hrs/week), May-October 

$20/hr+ DOE

The Flower Field Crew will play a key role in growing the cut flower operation. Harvesting flowers for farmer’s markets and wholesale will be the most regular task throughout the season. Harvest speed and efficiency will be essential for success. The Flower Field Crew will also work on a variety of other physical tasks, such as maintaining flower fields (weeding, planting, etc.), making market bouquets and wreaths, washing and sanitizing harvest buckets. On occasion, the Flower Field Crew may be asked to assist the Vegetable Field Crew and/or work a shift at our farmer's markets. The ideal candidate will have experience in both flower farming and floral design, though this is primarily a farming position. An individual who is passionate about growing flowers organically, can work fast while maintaining high quality standards, and has an eye for visual appeal will thrive in this position.

Experience & Qualifications

  • One full season production flower farming experience very strongly preferred but other production farming or physical fast-paced work environment experience and desire to farm may be considered

  • Flexibility to work variable hours and occasional long days to get through large task lists during the height of the growing season

  • Ability to hustle and thrive under pressure

  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions, ask for help when needed, and accept constructive feedback

  • Ability to repeatedly lift 50 lbs, bend, kneel, and be standing for long hours

Flower FIELD

ASSISTANT MANAGER

Full-time (35-45 hrs/week), year-round 

$22/hr+ DOE​

In addition to regular crew responsibilities, the Flower Field Assistant Manager oversees the flower crew and is responsible for ensuring that flower harvests and field tasks are complete, efficient, orderly, and meet quality standards. The Flower Field Assistant Manager will be strategic in prioritizing and structuring the daily task list so that the days run smoothly and tasks are done efficiently. The Flower Field Assistant Manager will be adept at delegating tasks to other crew members as needed. This position will work closely with the Flower Field Manager on bigger picture projects, and will meet weekly to layout the week’s priorities. This position has the potential to grow into the Flower Field Manager position.

 

Primary responsibilities:

  • Harvesting and working with the crew daily

  • Overseeing harvesting, seeding, planting, weeding, pinching, trellising, installing drip irrigation, bouquet making, bunch wrapping, order sorting.

  • Communicating effectively and empowering other crew members with the information they need to do their best work.

  • Meeting with the Flower Field Manager weekly to review upcoming sales and layout the harvest and task schedule for the week.

  • Tracking harvest data for entry into spreadsheets.

  • Printing invoices for farmer's market orders.

  • Familiarity with the crop plan and ability to reference and update it.

Experience & Qualifications

  • At least two years of flower or vegetable farming experience and some leadership experience

  • Strong communication skills

  • Comfort with delegating tasks to other crew members when needed

Operations MANAGER

Full-time (35-45 hrs/week), year-round 

$25-$30/hr DOE​

We are seeking a passionate and self-motivated Operations Manager to join our team at Longer Table Farm. The ideal candidate will have previous farm management experience, and will be passionate about organic farming and the success of a small farm business. We are looking for a highly organized individual with strong leadership and communication skills who can help the farm reach its growth and sustainability goals. This position will work closely with ownership and the existing crew to oversee daily operations. The Operations Manager will spend as much as half their time in the office, and the remainder spent in the field working alongside our crews. This role will require the ability to wear several hats on a daily basis while keeping an eye on big picture goals. 

We are more than willing to train the right applicant into this role over time. This is a new role at the farm and we are therefore still figuring out the details. The exact role will be finalized with the chosen applicant based on their qualifications and personality. We are looking for an individual that is interested in committing to this role long-term. We are hoping to expand Longer Table Farm substantially in the coming years so there is the opportunity for this role to evolve with that growth.  

 

Primary responsibilities:

  • Work closely with ownership to develop and execute daily and weekly work plans

  • Communicate and provide clear delegation of tasks to the team

  • Manage communications and sales with our distributors in coordination with our direct sales team

  • Work with other managers and leads to maintain records/logs, create annual crop plans, implement our food safety plan, and create and implement systems of efficiency

  • Help streamline processes to reduce costs and increase productivity 

  • Generate and analyze reports

  • Monitor quality assurance and control

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 4+ years experience working on commercial farms, organic systems preferred

  • Previous management/leadership experience 

  • Proficiency in Excel, Quickbooks, word processing, etc.

  • Familiarity with organic vegetable and flower production

  • Invested in the long term viability of the farm and wellbeing of our team

  • Self-motivated and organized 

  • A humble attitude and willingness to do even the most menial tasks 

  • Ability to think strategically with an efficiency and systems-based perspective; a constant “How can this be improved?” lens

  • Strong communication skills

  • Comfortable giving and receiving feedback

  • Familiarity with basic farm equipment and operations

  • Basic Spanish required

  • Grant writing experience is a plus

 

The position will start between $25-$30/hr (DOE) for the first season, and reassessed in spring of 2026. Additional benefits include paid vacation and an annual education stipend.

POST-HARVEST LEAD

Full-time (35-45 hrs/week), May/June-November 

$21-$25/hr DOE

The Post-Harvest Lead is responsible for the daily operation of the vegetable packshed. This position is essential to the function of the farm and is our last touchpoint before product is shipped out. The chosen applicant will work in tandem with our Sales Manager, Harvest Lead and crew to efficiently wash and pack all produce as it comes out of the field. The Post-Harvest Lead is also responsible for organizing orders, creating pack lists, maintaining a clean and organized work space, maintaining records and providing quality control. Applicants should thrive in a fast paced environment and be self motivated as this position includes a lot of solo work. This is a seasonal position with the potential to become permanent as we expand. This position should expect to spend ~30% of their time working in the field, assisting with harvest, weeding and other farm tasks. 

 

Primary responsibilities:

  • Order coordination and fulfillment (creating the packing list, overseeing packing, organizing orders)

  • Washing and packing vegetables

  • Organizing and driving deliveries

  • Final quality control 

  • Record keeping 

  • Managing availability on LFM platform

  • General cleaning and organization of the packshed, coolers, and harvest equipment

  • Managing product inventory in the coolers

  • Ordering bulk packaging (cardboard boxes, case liners, pint baskets, etc)

  • Working in partnership with other management to design and implement a GAP food safety plan

 

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 1+ seasons production farming experience strongly preferred 

  • Previous experience washing and packing vegetables in either a farm or retail environment 

  • Flexibility to work variable hours and occasional long days to get through large order days during the height of the growing season

  • Ability to hustle and thrive under pressure

  • Willingness to assist wherever needed to get the job done in a timely manner

  • Ability to give and follow written and oral instructions, ask for help when needed, and accept constructive feedback

  • Ability to repeatedly lift 50 lbs, bend, kneel, and be standing for long hours

  • Self-motivated and highly organized 

  • Basic Spanish preferred

Farmer's Market Crew

Two positions available

Position 1: Part-time or full-time (Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays required), June-November

Position 2: Part-time or full-time (Saturdays and Sundays required), 

July-November

$20/hr

The main role of the Farmer's Market Crew is to assist the Market Lead in all aspects of running our booth at three farmer's markets every week. This includes loading and unloading, interacting with customers and organizing orders. The ability to chat knowledgeably with customers while maintaining an efficient workflow is a must. Physical fitness and high energy is required as our farmer's markets are very busy and fast-paced (and fun!). 

 

We are hiring for two Market Crew positions: one starting early June (see Position 1 above), and a second starting mid-July (see Position 2 above). There is opportunity for one Market Crew member to work full-time, adding two or three days on-farm in addition to farmer's market days.

  • Customer service experience required

  • Valid California driver's license & a clean driving record

  • Enjoy conversing with customers and making sales

  • Basic knowledge of vegetable and flower varieties 

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, hustle, and stand for long periods of time

  • Previous vegetable or flower farming experience is a plus
